I wanted a Chicago tattoo but didn’t want a skyline, flag or text that said “Chicago”. So about a week after I got home from Barcelona I was getting off of the brown line at State and Van Buren, looked up and saw this face on the Chicago Public Library. The entire design is from building ornamentation on the Chicago Public Library. The words “Urbs in Horto” (latin for City in a Garden) was the motto that Chicago chose in 1837.
